I have experienced and worked a lot of different jobs in this past decade than I’d like to admit, ranging from awesome to awful. These experiences have taught me that the type of work environment I’m in directly impacts both my personal and professional life pretty dramatically. When looking for a company to work for, it’s not all about the pay or benefits. People want to know about the atmosphere, the opportunities to move upward, and the education and training made available. People want to know which companies are the best places to work and what makes them great.

This year i realized what makes a company a great place to work because I’m part of one that educates, trains, and wants you to succeed in everything you do. I’m very proud to say, “I love my job at Bluegrass.”

Having a job that I love and working for a great company inspired me to figure out what makes Bluegrass Lawn Care such a great place to work. After talking with some employees four topics came to my mind.

A Supportive Enviroment:

Bluegrass staff offers mutual support, promotes trust, rewards employees efforts, and ensures that employees know their work is meaningful. Whether it be a pat on the back, fist bump or words of encouragement someone is always letting you know your important.

Professional Growth:

Bluegrass looks for ways to grow the company based on employees passions and will train them accordingly. They ask employees what they are interested in doing and how they would like to see their career unfold. Within a short period of time I have gone from knowing little to becoming a supervisor and playing a key role in Bluegrass Lawncares success.

Enjoying who you work with:

We spend so much time with our co-workers, it’s important to like and respect eachother. Working with people who are supportive and understanding helps personal connections and professional growth. At Bluegrass friendships are made and the camaraderie makes each day a good one.

Work that is challenging and requires you to grow:

Most people want to be challenged so they can continually grow and learn new skills. Bluegrass enjoys seeing their employees accept the challenges and grow to new heights. Bluegrass has four crucial elements to look for in a great company and i highly recommend this company, it truly is a great place to work.
