Maritz Landscaping Project
Transforming a former building site into a vibrant, tranquil plaza, this project blends architectural design with sustainable landscaping. The result is a high-impact outdoor environment that supports both everyday use and large-scale gatherings. A living example of how we’re weaving sustainability into the way we work and connect, this project has been recognized by St. Louis Green Business Challenge with a Champion Innovation Project Award.

MARITZ PROJECT DETAILS
Following the demolition of an existing structure, Maritz was left with an open, undeveloped field with the goal of designing the space to naturally spread native species and enhance biodiversity. Bluegrass Landscape & Snow Management was selected through a trusted referral and known for delivering high-quality work across complex sites.
The design centered around a refined, architectural landscape that emphasizes simplicity, repetition, and balance. Due to extensive underground telecommunication, sewer, and water infrastructure, the site required a flexible approach. Native plantings were prioritized to enhance biodiversity and long-term sustainability. Signature features include sweeping arced walkways, natural boulder installations, soil enriched to boost plant health and resilience, and striking circular planting beds anchored by towering London Plane trees.
