Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

Now that the Winter months are behind us and Spring is coming into full bloom, it is time to prepare your business for all the color and life that this season brings. Just as you would clean out your home after enduring months of hibernation, the landscaping and lawns need to be tended to as well. Here is a checklist of the areas that need to be considered when discussing your maintenance needs with one of our lawn care experts.

REMOVAL OF DEBRIS

Winter has a way of leaving behind a lot of debris and unwanted waste. Even though the winter months are cold and dreary, plant life and weather conditions can wreak havoc on your landscaping. The cold winds and snows can result in an accumulation of leaves, limbs and other plant debris in your landscape beds. Without proper raking and care, mold and other funguses can grow and become unhealthy to your plants.

This is also the time of year that Bluegrass Landscape can care for your perennial plants by removing old, dead stalks and debris that would otherwise hinder the growth of these plants. We would also remove mulch that is no longer aesthetically pleasing and no longer serving a purpose in the landscaping. Other plants and bushes will be pruned and readied for Spring.

PLANTING BEDS PREPARATION AND LAWNCARE

Now that the trash has been removed and plants are prepped for the new season, it is time to care for the soil. Plants will not thrive if they are not given the proper conditions to grow in. Bluegrass Landscape will prep your landscape soil by breaking up the ground to allow fresh air and nutrients into the soil. We will also remove weeds, grass and unwanted plants that will deter from the original landscape design.

If your business has a lawn, we will want to prepare this for the upcoming Spring and Summer months as well. After removing debris and waste, a combination of grass seed and fertilizer will be applied to give your lawn a lush look.

ADDING NEW PLANTS

After the ground is prepped and ready, our professionals will replace and add any new plants that are needed to complete the overall look of the landscaping. If you are looking to update your landscape design, this would be a great time to discuss this with your Bluegrass representative.

We finish this step by fertilizing the area and applying a new layer of mulch to the planting area. This will give the plants the best chance of becoming beautiful, mature plants for all to enjoy. In addition, pest repellant and weed killer is applied to stop any nuisances before they start.
